It's amazing, almost every one of our friends, and especially family, have contributed in some way to making this trip possible; some slipped us money, others sewed curtains, others helped us plan, others gave us advice. (not sure if I used that semi-colon back there correctly....Val a little help here?)
Thanks for all the support from everybody, we will miss you all for the next six weeks and we couldn't have done this with out you. Hope that every one follows the blog, there will be pictures and stories. Be sure to comment. This is gonna be the trip of a lifetime.
-Adam
I think this will be the trip that BEGINS a lifetime of exploring, experiencing, and beholding of beauty and grace that words can not describe...

ReplyDeleteMichelle miss you too.
Val....
Are you planning on turning this into a book or memoirs of sorts? I am a fan of your writing style. I assume you are hitting VA on the way back? Holler at me for sure so I can make sure to have time to see you and plan a hike to the Cascades ( a waterfall about 25 minutes from here). Have fun & be safe! Love you!
ReplyDeleteHi You Two!
ReplyDeleteIt is a spectacular summer day here on our little lane in Maine- lots of sun, a few high, thin clouds, and a silky blue sky stretched out over the waving wildflowers bouncing in the breeze. I woke up this morning wondering where you might already be, and if the bright sun is also shinung brightly down upon your funky old van as it rumbles down the road.
Did you see the stars last night? Dad & I walked out on the deck before we went to bed and we marveled at how brilliant they were, and we thought of how you might be looking up at them too. They were absolutely gorgeous- moreso than usual, if that is possible.
The puggle has looked for you a few times, and Reba has been singing the blues- she actually has started playing the piano down there and singing "Nobody knows...the trouble I've seen..."- she greatly misses her girl, I think!
Sawyer has asked if we can move all your stuff out so he can take over your room; but we told him we though it might be tacky- at least not this first week....hahahaha
Dad and I are so proud of you and so excited for this amazing adventure you are taking before you head to college in the Fall. When we were first married- even before you had arrived-we always talked about how we were, one day, going to hit the road and travel the USA- just as you are now! The traveling genes are in your make-up for sure, and we are so delighted that you have been blessed with a wonderful partner for your journey too.
Have an awesome day today!! Love to you both- Mom D
PS- And I will try not to be so lengthy here!
ReplyDeleteIf you guys have time- you might want to venture up into Michigan- especially if you have time for the upper peninsula- look it up- its supposed to be marvelous. AND, Sierra- don't forget about all of those interesting spots in Wisconsin that Dad usually just zips past- even though we look longingly at them, wishing we might stop and explore.... Just FYI- we will be shooting for Brainerd late Thursday eve, as Dad has a meeting there on Friday morning- Everyone heading to the big Lake come Sunday- xoxo
Can't wait to see you!
